Prasarita Padottanasana

In this video, you will learn Standing Wide-Legged Forward Fold, also known as Prasarita Padottanasana. This yoga position is one of yoga fundamentals and a useful one to master as it comes with a multitude of benefits.

Wide-Legged Forward Fold is considered a full-body workout as it engages the abdominal wall, lower back, hips, and hamstrings. Even if you're not into yoga, this could be a great post-run exercise as it stretches your lower body, which is important after a run or any kind of exercise where your legs did most of the work.

Prasarita Padottanasana also works for calming your nerves and relaxing your mind, especially after a long day at work.

Even though it's suitable for beginners, it does require a certain amount of flexibility so be careful not to stretch beyond your abilities. Do the moves to a point where you feel comfortable, and with little effort, you will soon be able to do it to a full extent.
